COLOR GEL APPLICATION OVER ACRYLIC OR GEL NAIL

Steps for color gel application for toes or on a natural nail

  1. Gently push back cuticles and thoroughly remove pterygium from the cuticle area.
  2. Remove shine and surface oils with a fine grit file.
  3. Dust with brush.
  4. INT Base Prep – Spray and wash down prepared nails, using a clean lap towel.
  5. INT Insurabond – Apply one coat sparingly to natural nail; do not touch cuticle or flood the nail wall.
  6. INT Polymer Base – With a heavy pressure, apply one even coat from cuticle to free edge and groove to groove. Cure for 20 seconds under a 9watt lamp.
  7. INT Color Gel – With a light pressure, apply one even layer from cuticle to tip and groove to groove. Be careful not to touch the cuticle. Cure for 20 seconds under a 9watt lamp. For darker colors, cure for one (1) minute.
  8. INT Color Gel 2nd Coat – Repeat step 7 and cure for two (2) minutes under a 9watt lamp.
  9. INT Gloss Top – Apply one even coat with light pressure from cuticle to free edge and cure for 2 minutes under a 9watt lamp.
  10. INT Post Service Wipe – Moisten a nail wipe and wipe away the tacky residue.

Step for color gel application over an acrylic or gel nail

  1. File and etch the enhancement surface with a medium arbor band or a 180 grit hand file.
  2. INT Base Prep – Spray and wash down prepared nails, using a clean lap towel.
  3. INT Polymer Base – With a heavy pressure, apply one even coat from cuticle to free edge and groove to groove. Cure for 20 seconds under a 9watt lamp.
  4. INT Color Gel – With a light pressure, apply one even layer from cuticle to tip and groove to groove. Be careful not to touch the cuticle. Cure for 20 seconds under a 9watt lamp. For darker colors, cure for one (1) minute.
  5. INT Color Gel 2nd Coat – Repeat step 4 and cure for two (2) minutes under a 9watt lamp.
  6. INT Gloss Top – Apply one even coat with light pressure from cuticle to free edge and cure for 2 minutes under a 9watt lamp.
  7. INT Post Service Wipe – Moisten a nail wipe and wipe away the tacky residue.

Note: Variations in curing time depends on the wattage of bulbs in your curing lamp. The appropriate wattage required is a 9 watt (2 minute cure) or a 6 watt (3 minute cure).

Note: Color gel is not used for building strength in a nail, but as a permanent polish effect or nail art.
